Understanding the subscription lifecycle

A subscription gives you access to Sandbox APIs based on your chosen plan. It determines your usage quota as well as billing cycle.

Subscription Lifecycle

Sandbox subscriptions can exist in the following states:

  • Active – Your subscription is active and no invoices are overdue and you can continue using Sandbox APIs.
💡 API key status can be different than your subscription status. Learn more.
  • Paused – Your subscription is temporarily paused because invoices have gone overdue. In this state, API keys become inactive and production access is halted. Clear all overdue invoices within 30 days to automatically reactivate your subscription and API keys.
Info
If a billing cycle ends while a subscription is paused, then upon resuming the subscription, a new billing cycle will begin and a new invoice will be issued for it.
  • Inactive – Your subscription has ended and API keys are permanently inactive. This can happen due to:
    • User cancelled – You chose to cancel your subscription.
    • System cancelled – Invoices remained unpaid for 60 days, and the system automatically cancelled your subscription.

💡 To use Sandbox APIs again, purchase a new subscription.
